Yes, there are ALOT of dangers in south america (I'm not giong to list all of them because it would take me 3 hours to do, so, I'm just going to list: ALOT!) but one of the most unpopular one's on the list is: The bot fly. The bot fly bites, and when it does, sometimes it will lay eggs in your skin. You can get HORRIBLY infected from it. Here are some examples:
